National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development, New Delhi organised two days workshop on psycho-social training under the Ujjwala scheme in which 25 officials from civil society organizations of various states of India participated. From Uttar Pradesh Ankit Khandelwal, Vice President of Ek Pahel B. R. Memorial Welfare Society and Barkha Rai, Co-Secretary participated in the workshop. The workshop discussed dimensions of human trafficking and the importance of psychological-social support for survivors of trafficking. On first day of workshop Dr. P M Nair, former Director General of Police spoke about the challenges in fighting human trafficking and gave his suggestions. Shri Rishi Kant, founder of Shakti Vahini Sanstha shared his experiences on difficulties faced while helping females involved in trafficking. On Second Day of this workshop Mrs. Rajshri Singh, Vice President of Association for Welfare, Social Action and Research highlighted the causes of traffickimg such as poverty, unemployment, lack of opportunities in rural areas, etc. which we need to fight with, to stop human trafficking.
